Sucking finger - 吃手指

Can't really remember exactly when this started, but Emma started from chewing on her fingers/hand when she was teething or something, slowly that seemed to have become a comfortor for her. She started sucking the finger when she's sleepy and then slowly sucking it more and more... when she's being told off, or crying because she can't get what she wants, then she'd suck her finger to calm and comfort herself.

Funny thing is, she only sucks the right hand index finger most of the time.

I was a bit worried about that. I'm okay with her sucking fingers, if she would rotate them. But only 1 finger was making the finger very wrinkly and dry. I worry that the skin may break, but the nurse on the WellChild help line said we can't really do much about it and it's normal for the kids to do that.

A few days ago, we found there was a bit of skin broken on her finger and after comparing both hands, her right hand index finger is definitely looking quite swollan up. We tried using the mittens, we only got a very puzzled look from her staring at her mittens, but within 30 seconds, they were off.

Last night, daddy decided to try putting her in a little wrap that came with mittens on the sleeves. He only wrapped her right hand, thinking she can suck on the left hand fingers as an alternative. But we decided, only the right hand index finger, nothing else! Just kept scratching her chin... and wanting mummy to hold her to sleep. So the end result, everyone was sleep deprived and rather tired. This is on top of her already not sleeping well in the last 2.5 weeks. Only slept through once during this time! So daddy tried to put her to bed tonight by himself, very patiently sitting there with her and wait for her to fall asleep before putting her back to her own cot. At least this way we can both comfort her to sleep while she's still teething.

Really hope she sleeps better soon before we all go crazy!!

也不太記得是什麼時候開始的, 妹妹開始慢慢的, 從因為長牙很癢開始吃手手... 變成想睡覺就把手手當奶嘴吃, 又慢慢的變成常常在吃, 或是被罵啊, 要什麼不給他在哭的時候, 安撫自己就吃手手.
很奇怪的是, 都只要吃右手的食指.

媽媽有點擔心這樣吃不知道手會不會吃壞啊... 這麼常的吃的濕濕的, 那隻手指頭都已經皺皺乾乾的了, 很怕會破皮. 問了健康專線的護士, 說小朋友吃手很正常, 所以也就只能讓他們吃...

前幾天發現他手上真的破了皮... 後來兩隻手比較下發現, 右手的食指很像腫腫的. 我們試著用手套把他包起來, 他先是一臉疑惑的看著他的手, 不過結果也是知道的, 他不用30秒就把手套拿下來了...

昨天晚上爸爸決定, 先用衣服給他包起來吧... 我們有一件衣服袖子上是有手套的, 這樣就拿不下來了... 而且只包右手喔, 這樣還可以吃左手, 不過我們就不吃了... 只是一直抓下巴...不過昨晚倒是幾次就要媽媽抱著他睡才肯睡. 結果大家都睡眠不足. 加上他最近長牙已經吵了兩個多星期了... 爸爸覺得這樣不是辦法, 今晚很有耐性的成功的哄他睡著了...才把他放回床上自己睡.

希望他早點長好牙, 可以乖乖睡覺... 不然爸爸媽媽快不行啦 ^^;;

A few things happened today - 7th tooth, "flower", arm hurting, rabbit, humpty dumpty

I haven't been posting much lately, there's been many little things I tend to forget later. While I'm not feeling too lazy today, will record a few little things happened today.

This morning, I found a new tooth cut through! The last tooth came out almost 4 months ago! Talk about being slow! This time, it's the top left molar. No wonder she has been waking up a lot the last 4-5 nights!

This morning, when she got up, she still has her PJs on. Then she noticed there's lots of patterns on it and was pointing at them. So we told her, it's 小花 (flower in Chinese), Flower. We repeated a few times, then she started trying to say "flower". (not very good pronounciation but she was trying to copy us)

Oh and while mummy was dressing her, she fell from the couch, which is nothing unusual. That one is quite low and she climbs up and down it easily. Falling over is an daily activity, usually that doesn't bother her at all. So I wasn't paying attention. But then, there was this loud cry! (She usually doesn't cry unless it hurts quite a bit) Then I remember seeing her arm in a funny position as she landed. I think she must have twisted it somehow. We checked and she seems to be ok, but she has been complaining every now and then, and has not been using her left hand much either. Will see how she does tomorrow.

And we saw a rabbit in close encounter for the first time! (Will post later with photos!)

This afternoon, my cousin and wife came over to see my bro (who's here visiting at the moment). Emma brought her book "Five little monkey" over for us to read for her. Then we started talking about kiddie books, nursery rhymes etc. We mentioned humpty dumpty.... etc. Then, here she comes with the book, Humpty Dumpty. I'm not really sure if she knows which book is what or that was just the first other book she picked up by coincident.

What an eventful day!

最近很少寫部落格啦, 也常常有些事情就這樣忘記了... 趁今天還記得發生了幾樣小事情, 先寫下來吧...

早上發現妹妹多長出了一顆牙! 終於! 上次長牙已經是快4個月前的事情了! 這次是上排左邊的第一顆臼齒呢! 難怪給我吵了幾個晚上睡不好...

妹妹今天早上起床還穿著睡衣, 突然發覺到上面有很多圖案. 我們跟他說, 是小花, flower. 重複了幾次, 他就跟著很不標準的說起了 "flower". 不過我想, 這個比較難吧, 應該不會記得的.

早上在換衣服的時候, 他從沙發上跌了下來. 那張沙發是很低的, 天天爬上爬下的也沒問題. 到處跌倒也是天天發生的事情, 他也沒差. 所以我也沒有特別管他, 不過這次倒是慘叫一聲開始哭起來了! 平時我們是沒有很痛不會哭的. 想起剛剛好像他跌下去, 手的位置好像怪怪的, 可能壓到手了, 扭到了還是怎樣來著... 我們檢查了一下, 又看他也沒有一直哭下去, 應該是沒事. 不過一整天也是有時弄到手會哭, 又不太用左手... 明天在觀察看看吧.

今天還第一次看到小兔子喔, 這個改天寫! 有照片的喔! :)

下午我表弟他們來找我弟, 妹妹拿著 "Five little monkey" 的書來給我們. 我們唸給他聽之後, 在聊幾小朋友的書跟童謠... 說到 humpty dumpty. 說著, 他就跑去把那本書拿了過來. 也不知道他是真的知道哪本書是講什麼的, 還是湊巧拿到的... :)

現在想想今天還發生了不少事情...

* Thursday, 14th Aug 2008 - 13 months + 1 week *

After we picked her up from the daycare that evening, all of a sudden, she started to make lots of new noises that we haven't heard before. Also started doing "oh-oh" (the sound kids make when they are in trouble). Now, if she drops something, something falls off or she falls over, she would say "oh-oh". Very very cute!! She also mumbles to herself with lots of new noises! It's quite amazing!

那天下課回家, 也不知道怎麼著, 就一直發出很多新的聲音... 還會說 "喔喔" (很像做了什麼壞事情). 現在東西掉了啊, 跌倒了等等就會自己在那裡 "喔喔"! 超可愛的! 還會一直自己喃喃自語的不知道在說什麼, 不過會發的聲音越來越多了!

Making ourselves understood - 我要這個...

Probably from 11 months on, or earlier, depends on what, Emma is getting better and better of making herself understood.

Already know how to indicate she wants you to pick her up, hold her by raising both arms. (Earler, at 7 months, she grabs your hands and put them under her armpit);
10 months, she started pointing at food and say "mum mum"; eventually evolves to having to check what's coming out of the microwave as soon as it starts beeping!
She'd point at the hot water thingy we have (always have boiled water) and say "mum mum" for milky, as you need hot water to make milky!
If she wants to go out, she will drag you to the door and points at the door;
If she wants to see the birds, she say "birds" (or when she spots a bird outside)
If she wants you for something, she will cry for attention or drag you there...
for example, to play with her, read with her, open the lid, close the lid, turn on the music on her toys (as we turn it off when they aren't being used- too noisy) etc
If she doesn't want anything, she shakes her head, pushes your hand away, or whatever you give her away.

If she wants something and you don't give it to her, she starts to cry and protest. She also checks if you are watching or not. If you ignore her, she cries louder.... keep ignoring her, eventually she will go play with something else, or find someone else who won't ignore her. :P

When she's playing, if you are sitting on the floor, she'd make herself very comfortable, wriggle her bums and sits on your legs.

There's probably more...

It's amazing how soon, she's already not a baby anymore, she's a little person with her own personalities!

大概從11個多月起吧, 或是更早就要看什麼了. 妹妹越來越懂的怎樣表達自己要什麼.

很早就會兩手伸起來要抱抱了 (在更早一點 - 7個多月 - 是會來抓我的手, 放在他腋下);
10個月的時候就會指著食物說 "mum mum"; 後來進化到, 只要圍波爐嗶的一聲, 他就要你抱他去檢查看看有什麼好吃的....
會指著熱水壺說 "mum mum" 就是要喝ㄋㄟㄋㄟ, 因為泡ㄋㄟㄋㄟ要熱水.
要出去玩, 出去看鳥就拖著你到門口指著門;
要看鳥就叫 "bird" (或是自己看到窗外的鳥也會叫 bird);
要你來做什麼, 就會發出抗議的叫聲或是把你拖來, 把東西拿給你
像是陪他玩啊, 看書啊, 幫他把蓋子蓋好打開啊, 玩具音樂被切掉的要打開啊... 等等
不要就搖頭把你手推開, 或是你拿給他的東西推開等等.
要什麼不給就"盧", 就開始番起來哭啊叫啊, 還會一邊看你有沒有在看咧. 要是一直都不理他就哭大聲一點, 再不理他就乖乖自己去玩別的. :P 不然就是去吵別人. :P

他小姐還會自己很"酥"的就走過來屁股移好, 就坐在你腿上繼續玩呢!

還有其他想不起來了.. :P

真的是想不到這麼快就已經不像個小貝比了, 已經是個有個性的小人兒了!

Saying a few more words - 又會多說幾個字

Emma started saying "ya ya" (duck in Chinese) a bit more. She was able to make that sound before, but now she knows duck and "ya ya" is the yellow rubber duckie.

Grandparents also said she knows how to say "dirty" in Chinese, very very unclear way but that's what she meant. For me, it sounds just like "da da", but she will be pointing at something dirty on the floor at the same time.

Today, it is the first time she said a very perfect "dog", even with the "g" sound at the end. Of course that only happened that once. So I don't know if she is saying that word or just fluke and made a noise that sounded like "dog".

But she's definitely making more and more new noises that I can't understand. It's all good :) I think it'd be fun once she can actually talk.

最近妹妹很常說"鴨鴨", 以前就會發這個音, 不過最近知道說, duck, 跟鴨鴨都是那黃色的小鴨子.

阿公阿媽說, 他還會說很不標準的 "髒髒", 我聽起來跟 "da da" 很像啊... 可是他會在地上指著髒髒的東西說... 所以有時侯我也搞不清楚他在說 da da 還是髒髒.

今天第一次很標準的說 "dog", 連後面的 "g" 都發出來了. 不過就那麼一次而已 ^^''' 所以也不知道是真的會還是誤打誤撞來著的.

不過是真的會發出越來越多種聲音了... 雖然聽不懂不過表示有慢慢在變化囉. 等他會講話一定很很玩囉! :)

Patting our chest - 自己拍拍

I don't always have photos for these blog posts, and I've been quite busy and slack with posting. I've missed quite a few little things that Emma's been doing. So I thought, short posts beats none! That way I won't be thinking, oh when did she start doing that? I can't remember now!

Emma's been a little sick this week, often the throwing up started with some nasty coughs. We've been patting her back every time she coughs etc. Also when she has hiccups or drinks too fast etc. So now she's started patting her own chest whenever she coughs a bit hard. Sometimes when grandma coughs, she goes and pats her as well. That is quite cute.

沒有很多照片囉... 而且, 媽媽最近比較忙也比較懶, 就很多事情沒有紀錄下來到, 想說還是上來寫一下, 短一點, 一次紀錄一點點, 才不會都忘記什麼是什麼時候發生的了.

話說妹妹最近生病, 都是先咳一咳才吐, 我們就幫他拍拍背. 以前打咯等等也都是幫他拍拍. 最近到是自己開始自己拍拍胸前. 有時阿媽咳咳, 他也會去拍拍他喔... 真可愛 :)

Clap clap clap - 拍拍手

That evening got home, I was playing with Emma on the floor. She was holding my hands then I started clapping. She found it very very amusing and started giggling. Then she was the one holding onto my hands and clapping, as if she's the one teaching me how to clap, like we how we taught her.

那天回到家, 跟妹妹在地上玩, 他抓著我的手, 我開始拍起手來, 他覺得很好玩就一直笑一直笑... 結果變成他抓的我的手來拍拍手, 很像以前我們教他怎麼拍手那樣... 嘿嘿..

Holding the bottle by ourselves - 自己喝ㄋㄟㄋㄟ

For a few weeks, Emma has been wanting to hold the bottle herself during the feed. If you are holding the bottle, she'd slowly take your fingers off one at a time. So we just give her the bottle and let her hold it herself. This is quite nice especially in the morning feed, while I'm changing her, it stops her from scrathing as well, although she learnt to hold the bottle with 1 hand only.

妹妹這陣子都要想要自己抱奶瓶自己喝ㄋㄟㄋㄟ, 你要是不給他拿, 他就慢慢的把你的手指頭一指一指給扳開來... 所以後來我們就給他自己喝囉! 這樣也不錯, 尤其是早上的時候, 我一邊幫他換尿布, 給他自己喝ㄋㄟㄋㄟ這樣他也比較不會去抓腳.

Plunket 13 months check - 13 個月檢查

Today Emma has a Plunket appointment, originally for 1 year check, but it's more like a 13 months check :P

Nurse said she's developing well, can walk and climb etc. Also the nurse said she's talking already because she can say a few words. I thought talking means "talking". Well apparently most kids only start saying a few words around 15 months, so Emma is doing well. Over the next few months, she will be developing mainly her speech skills, by 2, there would be sentences.

I asked the nurse if it's normal for her to be taking forever to teeth and still only have 6 teeth. She said that's fine.

Took us a while to get some measurements off her, nurse said she's very strong! Refused to lie down, so we had to stand her against the wall and try to measure her height that way. So figures are approx.

Weight: 11.06kg (I think she lost a little from not much food and no milk for 2 days)
Height: 79.5cm
Head: 46.5cm

今天去 Plunket 護士那檢查. 護士說我們很厲害喔, 會走會爬也會往上爬, 還會說話喔. 因為他會說幾個字, 護士說這樣就是開始在說話囉. 我想說... 說話不就說話, 就會講幾個字也算喔 ^^;; 所以護士說妹妹很厲害喔! 之後幾個月就會慢慢會說更多話囉! 到了2歲才開始會一句一句說.

我問說長牙長的這麼慢正常嗎? 他說沒事.

接下來就是要量身高體重囉. 體重沒問題, 身高就搞了很久, 一直不肯躺下去, 護士說他很有力. 後來就靠牆站好量個大概.

體重: 11.06 公斤 (最近這兩天沒什麼吃有瘦一點)
身高: 79.5 公分
頭圍: 46.5 公分

Sick Emma: Where's my milky! 生病的妹妹: 我的ㄋㄟㄋㄟ呢?

Emma has been unwell for the last few nights. Started throwing up on Monday night, twice! Each time after the feed in the evening. So we stayed home with her on Tuesday. Again threw up that evening. (More washing for mum and dad to do) So we took her to the doctors today.
Got told that there's not much they can do, it'd pass. Should be fine by Saturday. We do have to collect a sample of her poo to test, as there's a tummy bug going around at the moment. Also been told that she can't go back to daycare until next week. And worst of all, no milky for 24-48 hours! Because it's the protein in the milk that's making her throw up.

And so today, it was a bit a struggle to feed her rice water (basically porridge cooked with lots of water and then blended - done by grandma, much to mummy's relief!)

I think she's not used to drinking other than water and milk. So this was like... fun for a little while but not interested in finishing the whole lot.

So the poor little thing has been quite clingy, better today though. Last two days, refused to go back for her afternoon nap at first. On Tuesday, finally passed out and sleeping on mummy. This morning, was up since 4am... and only by about 6:20ish, fell asleep in my arms again. I think we wanted more cuddles.

Well and she threw up again tonight, all the rice she's eaten at dinner time. So she'd be on liquid diet and small small amount of food at a time from now till she's better! I hope she gets better soon! This is rather draining for the parents!

妹妹最近生病了, 從週一晚上每次喝完ㄋㄟㄋㄟ就吐, 週二我們就留在家裡陪他.晚上又吐了. 乖乖的洗了一推衣服, 床單等等今天就帶他去看醫生.醫生說沒什麼大問題, 到週六左右慢慢會好不過因為最近有各腸病毒在流行,要驗大便

醫生又說他不可以回去學校, 會傳染其他小朋友又說24-48小時內,ㄋㄟㄋㄟ暫時不要給他喝
所以今天就只能喝水喝很淡很淡的粥, 還是阿媽把粥煮的很稀然後又打碎過... 加水給他喝. 不過好像喝不太習慣就是了. 平時就是喝水喝ㄋㄟㄋㄟ而已

可憐的妹妹這幾天很黏, 今天好一點點. 週一二下午不肯回去睡覺... 週二到後來是很累很累躺在媽媽身上睡著的. 今天早上4點就起來了, 後來也是到6點20躺在媽媽懷裡睡著的... 生病了要人家抱抱吧. 小可憐.

今天晚上又吐... 晚上一次吃太多飯了... 在他好之前,就喝液體的吧, 食物就一次吃一點點一點點... 唉...希望他快一點好起來.

Putting the lid on - 蓋蓋子

Recently Emma has discover the fun of putting the lid back on things. She'd ask you for help to put the lid on when she can't do it after a while; or if the lid is closed, she'd ask you to open it for her, so she can carry on trying out how to put the lid back on. Always with such concentration and focus, it's very interesting!
But we don't have other photos of her doing this, here's one of her playing with my Wild Bean coffee mug!

最近妹妹很愛玩蓋蓋子, 蓋不起來也會叫我們幫忙, 蓋好了打不開也要叫人家幫他開... 這樣他就可以繼續玩 :D 每次都是很認真很專心的樣子... 很好玩>

Emma loves books, which is a good news for mum and dad, even though we've been a bit slack in reading to her. Now she has even more books and loves to flip through the pages one by one, pointing at things and say "Bird"... and of course she also likes to chew on her books ^^;;

妹妹愛看書. 爸爸媽媽很慶幸, 因為我們也沒有很認真的在唸書給他聽. 現在又幫他多買了幾本書, 他很喜歡就這樣一頁一頁的翻書, 指著上面的圖案說.. "bird". 也會把書拿起來吃啦!

Guess who's here?! Emma's been popping her head in between the two lazy boys to say hello! Finally got a photo of it!

猜猜我是誰啊! 妹妹最近都喜歡突然在沙發椅中間出現, 跟我們笑一笑又跑掉.. 終於照到一張照片囉!

那天妹妹被爸爸裝在袋子裡, 有人要買嗎? :P
爸爸在網上買運動鞋送了一個購物袋, 我們就拿妹妹來試試看...

妹妹: 我們要去哪玩啊?

Emma: Let me have a peek, are we there yet?
妹妹: 偷看一下... 到了沒?

Emma: This is boring, I don't want to play anymore!
妹妹: 太無聊了, 我不玩了!

Playing with a box - 玩箱子

Once when we got home from veg shopping and forgot to pack the box away. Then Emma started playing with the box. She climbed in it, sat in the box and rocked back and forth as if she’s on a rocking horse. Then she climbed out of it and carried it to a different place and climbed in again. Sometimes we spend money on expensive toys, very soon, they ran out of interest. This is just a box! And it was free! Definitely pays to be cheap sometimes!

有次我們買菜回來, 忘記把箱子拿去收起來. 結果被妹妹發現了. 他就開始玩了起來, 爬進去坐在裡面, 自己就前後搖來搖去的, 很像在騎木馬那樣, 然後爬出來, 抓著箱子到處跑, 換個地方就又爬進去啦. 有時候花錢買玩具給他玩, 玩沒多久就沒興趣啦.. 這個免費的箱子倒是玩的很高興… 所以對小朋友的玩具, 還是不用花太多錢吧!

Coffee Group Birthday Party

Sunday, 1st June, it was the birthday party for all the kids in the coffee group.

Emma was a little shy at first but very soon she warmed up and was quite happily exploring the new place and playing with all the new toys! :D

六月一號, 我們的 coffee group 幫所有的小朋友辦了一個生日派對. 妹妹一開始有一點點害羞, 不過沒多久就很高興的到處去探險, 去玩人家的玩具啦!

All the kids were so fascinated by the glass. 小朋友都對這個玻璃的圍牆很好奇喔.

Birthday Cake, names are in the order of age, although Emma was actually born before Oliver. 一歲的生日蛋糕喔, 每個人的名字都在上面. 照年齡排的, 不過妹妹其實是倒數第3個出生的不是第2啦.

Napier Trip #2

After we finally got off our lazy bums and got the photos off the camera, I realised there were a few more photos from our Napier trip that are worth sharing.

Daddy was carrying Emma in the backpack and holding Alex (4.5Y)in the front. Two of them started playing with each other!

懶惰的媽媽終於把相機裡面的照片都拷出來了, 發現我們之前去 Napier 玩, 還有幾張照片可以跟大家分享. 爸爸把妹妹背在後面, 前面抱著朋友的小孩, Alex (4.5Y). 兩個就這樣玩起來了…

Making naughty face - 嘟嘴巴做鬼臉

This little monkey has been quite busy, active and exploring. She understands what's allowed and what's not. But of course, since when has that stopped anyone from being naughty? What she will do is, a big naughty "I'm up to no good" smile, poking her tongue out and tuck it on one side (still sticking out). Take a look at you, then go try and touch or play with whatever she's not allowed..

When she gets caught and told off, she will walk away, but will give you this face with her cheeks all puffed up and give you the face as she walks away.

It's quite funny how she develops these behaviours. Quite fun and cute to watch, too!

最近這小鬼很皮, 雖然比較知道說, 什麼"壞事"不可以做... 當然還是要給他試試看啊... 要做壞事之前還會先偷笑一下, 伸伸舌頭, 把舌頭往旁邊咬著, 看看你... 然後很賊的試探一下. 被抓到被唸的時候就乖乖走開, 轉過來看著你做個嘟嘴巴的鬼臉... 然後又跑去玩了.

看他這樣很有趣, 也不知道去哪學來的.... 每天都有好笑的怪動作表情可以看.

Bird? Book? Duck? Making more noises that sound like words!

For the whole day, she's been going on and on about "boooo" when she's reading a book. But then she does that with everything, too.

Then there's the 'baaaa' (sounds more like bird with out the d sound at the end) and pointing at the sky. But then everything else is "bird".

Then there's the "da-" (duck) noise and she would point to a duck in the book. But after that, everything else is also "duck".

Also noticed that if you say "mooo" she would say it, too! :D

If you sing "twinkle twinkle little star" she would start singing, too.

Very cute! :D

這篇有一點點難用中文解說的很詳盡. 妹妹最近開始會發出更多不同的聲音, 而且還是會指著某個東西說... "book", "bird", "duck" 相近的聲音. 最後面的都沒發音啦.
不過要是開始說了一個字, 之後每樣東西都變成同一個了!

不過還有發現你要是對著他學牛叫, "moo", 他也會跟著你叫呢.
你開始唱小星星, 他也會很開心的跟著你唱喔! 發音不準就是了.

很可愛吧! :D

Let's go for a walk! 走走走我們散步去!

For a long time, Emma refuses to sit in the stroller for long, so we started putting her in the backpack and carried her around for walks.

已經好一陣子了, 妹妹都不肯乖乖坐在推車上坐太久. 所以就只好用背的! 去散步啊走走看看的就把他背出去.

Xmas Gift from Uncle Phil - 叔叔送的耶誕禮物玩具

Emma got this nice wooden horse toy from her uncle Phil as one of the xmas presents. Ever since, she was always keep to lay her hands on them. But the toy has been hidden away from her for many months, as she used to knock herself with it.

話說妹妹在耶誕節的時候, 收到不少禮物, 其中一樣是叔叔送的小木馬的玩具. 他很喜歡, 不過因為都會自己用玩具去敲到自己, 因此玩具被收了起來.

This was also the toy, as soon as Emma could roll over, she would roll over and over, get up on the tummy, change direction, roll again till she gets to the corner where the wooden horse is kept. So she can play with it when no one is watching. (She thinks anyway).

這個玩具也是妹妹一會翻身之後, 就會用連續翻身加上抬頭起來轉方向的方式, 就這樣可以滾到我們放木馬的地方, 趁我們不注意偷偷玩一下.

Eventually mummy decided she's old enough to play with this, so... it is no longer forbidden! She loves it soooo much... she enjoy eating it, especially the little flower in the horse's mouth! Then...

久久之後媽媽想說夠大了, 可以給他玩木馬了... 他很喜歡玩... 特別愛吃馬嘴裡咬的那朵花. 結果有一天....

Stroking her own head - 自己摸摸頭

Last night, she threw up a bit, so was a little grizzly. Woke up around 11pm and needed a cuddle. So I went and slept with her for a while. She was rather uncomfortable and kept tossing around for a while until she finally starting to fall asleep. I've noticed that she was stroking her own head.

I must say I've seen this before, only a few times, but I've realised what she was doing last night. Normally when we try to comfort her in bed, we stroke her head and back. So I think she was stroking her own head to comfort herself and put herself to sleep!! That was quite cute!

昨天晚上妹妹吐了, 就比較吵一點... 要陪. 晚上11點多醒來, 也是要去陪一下. 看他翻來翻去很難過的樣子... 過了好一陣子終於慢慢要睡著了. 發現他自己在摸自己的頭, 摸摸....

以前也有看過幾次吧. 也沒特別去想. 昨晚突然發現, 平時如果他晚上需要安撫, 我們都是在床邊或是抱著他摸摸他的頭... 所以妹妹現在自己摸摸頭, 自己安撫自己... 真可愛!

No scratching - 不抓癢了

From about 4.x months on, Emma started to have eczema, rash on the skin that's itchy. In the beginning, it wasn't too bad either. Slowly it got worse and worse. She scratches like mad whenever she can. Then it makes the rash even worse and at times, she scratches so hard, she bleeds, too. So after shower each night is like a battle with her! Trying to get all the layers on her, put cream on and at the same time, distract and stop her from scratching! It drives me mad, too. I don't like seeing her like that and it's so hard to stop her, as she fights very hard and she's a strong girl!

That night, she didn't scratch. I was soooo happy! Next morning, nappy changing time, again usually is her scratching time. But no, nothing!! Now, 2 more days on, some minor scratching - more like out of habit, but nothing serious!

So I hope this is the end of her scratching and it means the soy based formula worked! (with the tiny little non-steriod based cream which costed $48! worked!!) Just a bit hard on the pocket, but hey, if it means she doesn't scratch and hurt herself, and she's not itchy.... that's what it will have to be. :)

(There was a bit of delay for posting this, because the very next day, she starts to scratch... and a little more. Some days better than others. Sometimes I still wonder if those were real stratching or just she being silly!) ^^;;

大概從4個多月, 妹妹開始起疹子. 一開始也不是特別嚴重, 漸漸的就越來越慘. 所以他就一有機會就狂抓癢. 越抓就越嚴重, 他又抓的很用力, 都會抓破皮流血. 所以每天洗完澡就像在跟他打仗一樣! 一邊要穿尿布衣服, 還要擦乳液等等, 還要忙著阻止他一直抓癢. 真的很累又看他那麼難過也很心疼.

滿11個月那晚到是沒抓. 真的好高興喔!! 隔天早上換尿布也沒抓. 真的好感動喔... T_T 過了兩天... 也都沒什麼抓.. 害媽媽好高興喔!!

希望以後就會越來越好, 也不會抓抓了!! 家醫開的那一小條48塊錢的藥膏, 加上換成喝豆奶奶粉...終於見效了!

(這篇拖了這麼久才 PO 上來,就是因為後來妹妹又抓 ^^;; 時好時壞. 因為他抓就有傷口, 就又更癢... ^^;; 有時候他好像是看到媽媽在擦乳液才想起來要抓... ^^;;; 真的不知道他是真的癢,還是習慣性的抓)
