New bedtime routine
We've never been big on bathing the baby... for various reasons.
So Emma didn't get bath very often, well twice a week? Sometimes more, sometimes less :P
She hates it anyway.
So once we tried to shower with her. She seems to like it better, well scream less in the first few times. Once when grandma was taking her clothes off, she was already shivering... scared of being bathed...
Now, she really enjoys the shower!
As the weather is getting warmer and warmer... now, after sitting on daddy's lap watching mum and grandparents eat dinner. Then it's off to the bathroom, lying on the floor on the layers of towels and changing mat... etc to play for a bit, while mum or dad showers first.
Then it's Emma's turn to shower.
She'd stare at the shower head as if she's working out what's going on... sometimes she'd eat my shoulder when I am holding her... in general, just rather happy.
Then she gets handed over to whoever is out of the shower first (or wasn't in it in the first place) to be dried off. A bit of lotioning.
This is when sometimes she does scream... not because of the shower... but hunger!
So she gets fed then put to bed.
From tonight, we are also trying to leave a brigher lamp on; had daddy sitting there with a laptop for almost an hour with her while she falls into deeper sleep.
I'm sure soon, those would be replaced with some bedtime stories :)
I really hope this works and all of us can start getting more sleep regularly. Of course, in any given day, we might still be sleep deprived, but at least not every single day for 5+ weeks...
