Plunket visit update

Friday, 7th Dec (22wks + 2/7 ; 5 months + 3 days)

The plunket nurse checked her out and checked the development. Very happy with it. Checking if she can roll over and back; if she knows how to pass toys from one hand to another. ...etc etc.

We've also told the nurse that she started on solids from 5 months and is now fully bottle fed. The nurse was fine with that and suggested if we can, read the book on solids or go for the solids talk in the family centre.

Also suggested we read to her; take her to the library and join the library there to get some books out for her.

Then we got the nurse to recheck her weight etc measurements.... there was quite a difference :P

Weight: 7.31kg
Height: 66.5cm
Head circ. : 41cm

But the nurse said we should try to get her to feed 3-4 hourly rather than 2-3 hourly. Also try to eliminate the night feed if we can.... and we should think about when to get rid of the dummy! They recommend 6 months. We weren't too sure about that :P

We've also got her a pair of baby sunglasses ;)
Just have to get her used to wearing it :P

First day at Daycare

Today is the first day Emma starts daycare. She will be in daycare on Tuesday and Thursdays from now. I also have the person from property management company coming over to take photos of our house for renting at 2pm. So, I was busy cleaning and tidying up the house while she's at daycare. After I got everything done and just got out of the shower, I got a call from the daycare. At first I thought, oh no... but then, they only called to let me know that Emma is okay... just in case I'm wondering but feel bad to call. So apparently she had her bottle shortly after daddy dropped her off. Then went to sleep for 2.5 hours... Had another 200ml and was playing on the floor when they called me around 12:45. She told me that Emma is a really easy baby, so far. Sounds very good! I think she behaves better there!! At home, sometimes she won't go to sleep... gets too happy... Hmm... :P At least we know she's okay in daycare... and mum is okay today, very busy actually! :P Sally

Woo finally rolling over caught on video!

This morning when I was getting Emma out of the bed for her 2nd feed, I couldn't find the camera's memory card. Oh well, so I put her down for tummy time anyway and thinking, I bet she's gonna roll over this time and we'd miss it on video again! Yep! Damn! Later I found the memory card and put her on video again... but it only has 7 mins left! Bummer... I thought she might roll over just as the camera is running out of memory... no no, she didn't. Very close so many times though! But now I know what the secret is for her rolling over... She'd have one arm straight and pushing hard, the other tucked in... and she always likes to wiggle to a certain direction very hard... and babies have heavier heads :P So... she just keeps pulling towards one direction and... way she goes... rolls over.
