Growth updates - 7 months+5d (31weeks+3d)

Today we took Emma to the Pakuranga Plunket again to do some DIY measurements.

Weight: 8.97kg
(even though daddy was so convinced that she's over 9kg :P)

Height: 73.5cm

(the nice Plunket nurse who was there, she didn't have any appointments at that time we went, so she measured Emma for us. Her measuring tool is easier than the one outside...)

The Plunket nurse really likes her, was talking to her and playing with her. Said she's very smily. Then she was asking us how old Emma is... and she said this must be a 9 monther. 7 months? Wow... she's a big girl!

That is 620g and 3.5cm in 4 weeks time.

So the weight growth is slowing down a bit, but the height seems to be going up...

First day at Daycare

Today is the first day Emma starts daycare. She will be in daycare on Tuesday and Thursdays from now. I also have the person from property management company coming over to take photos of our house for renting at 2pm. So, I was busy cleaning and tidying up the house while she's at daycare. After I got everything done and just got out of the shower, I got a call from the daycare. At first I thought, oh no... but then, they only called to let me know that Emma is okay... just in case I'm wondering but feel bad to call. So apparently she had her bottle shortly after daddy dropped her off. Then went to sleep for 2.5 hours... Had another 200ml and was playing on the floor when they called me around 12:45. She told me that Emma is a really easy baby, so far. Sounds very good! I think she behaves better there!! At home, sometimes she won't go to sleep... gets too happy... Hmm... :P At least we know she's okay in daycare... and mum is okay today, very busy actually! :P Sally

Woo finally rolling over caught on video!

This morning when I was getting Emma out of the bed for her 2nd feed, I couldn't find the camera's memory card. Oh well, so I put her down for tummy time anyway and thinking, I bet she's gonna roll over this time and we'd miss it on video again! Yep! Damn! Later I found the memory card and put her on video again... but it only has 7 mins left! Bummer... I thought she might roll over just as the camera is running out of memory... no no, she didn't. Very close so many times though! But now I know what the secret is for her rolling over... She'd have one arm straight and pushing hard, the other tucked in... and she always likes to wiggle to a certain direction very hard... and babies have heavier heads :P So... she just keeps pulling towards one direction and... way she goes... rolls over. Finally... in the afternoon, when I was playing with her on tummy time again... video on... after so many close ones... she finally rolls over and caught on camera! Yah! (These p...
