* 10 months + 2 weeks * From about 10 months on, she started pointing at things and goes "uh!" to indicate that she wants that thing. First time was actually on Anzac day when we were in Napier. Then she's been doing it more after she's about 10 months old. Sometimes to us, it seems like a general direction, and you take her closer to the possible objects, then she will grab what she wants. Then (not too sure how) she also started making the "mum mum" noise while she eats. That was amusing during meal time. So, this evolves into pointing at food items (usually) and "mum mum" to indicate she wants to eat. Of course, it might not always be things that she is allowed to eat :P I guess she's slowly communicating in more ways than she could before! So now I know she wants something from that direction or wants this or that, rather than just crying! :P ---------------------------------------------------------- 大概10個月左右, 妹妹就慢慢開始會用手指東西/指一個方向, 說: "...

* 10 months + 3 weeks * Recently, Emma started making the "mum mum" sound when she is eating. Or when she wants to eat something. A few days later, it turned into the "ma ma" sound that I've been waiting for... for almost 5 months!! She was saying "da da", "ba ba" from 6-6.5 months! Finally... now we hear "ma ma". 最近開始要吃東西的時候, 或是想吃的時候, 會發出 mum mum mum 的聲音, 然後過了幾天終於變成 媽媽 (ma ma). 等他叫媽媽等了快5個月耶!! 因為他6個月就會叫爸爸啦...之後還會發出很像爹爹的聲音呢!! 現在終於會叫媽媽了... 好感動喔...

* 10months + 1 week * Babies all make funny noises, babbling, try to talk or sing and none of them really make any sense. Apart from the odd word or two... like da da, ba ba etc. Usually they don't know what it means anyway.. at least not at this age. That evening, after her dinner, she went off to play and we were in the kitchen... then we heard this 'singing' like noise and it actually sounds like her favourite song, Twinkle twinkle little star... and the musical mat is playing the same song and she was singing along. For the first time ever, her 'singing' it actually matches the same tune of a song and we can tell that singing noise is "Twinkle twinkle little star"! Wow! This is cool! 小寶寶都會發出奇怪的聲音啊, 很像在說話啊 或是在唱歌啊, 通常是都聽不懂他在幹麻... 有時會有幾個聽的懂的聲音, 像是爸爸, 搭搭... 不過他們也不知道那是什麼 那天晚上我們吃飽, 妹妹自己跑去玩, 我們聽到他在唱歌的聲音, 而且還聽的懂他在唱小星星耶. 他的音樂毯正在唱這首歌呢, 妹妹就一起合唱... 這是第一次我們聽他唱歌, 還知道他在唱哪一首歌呢! 真厲害!!

* 9 months & 3 weeks * Emma has this musical mat for ages, it makes different animal sounds and the keyboard has two modes, either making the piano notes or has songs on different key. She's been playing with it for a while but not usually too interested. But lately, she would play with it and also trying to find out where the sound comes from. 妹妹有一個音樂毯, 上面有不同動物的圖案, 按下去發出不同的動物叫聲, 還有上面的鍵盤有兩種功能. 一個是像鋼琴那樣, 一個是不同的童謠音樂. 他通常沒有特別愛玩這個, 不過最近他都是玩一下, 就開始找音樂的來源... Here's usually what happens... 通常是這樣的... Trying to turn this thing upside down to see what's underneath... (I think she thinks something under the mat is making the sound) 他會想要把這個翻過去, 看看下面到底是什麼在發出聲音... (我覺得他認為這個下面會發出音樂) Later when she starts walking, she has even turn the whole thing upside down! 後來會走之後還把整個翻過來找!

* 9 months & 3 weeks * Friday, 25th April - Anzac Day, first time mum and dad taking Emma out on a trip involving long distance driving. We started the journey at 6:05am and Emma had been fed at 5am and been up since then, so she was rather sleepy but took her 40 mins to fall asleep at last. Then she slept all the way to Taupo until we stopped for a bathroom break 2 hours and 40 mins later. It was a nice drive! Then sort of cried all the way to Clive for over an hour as she was bored, want to be out and eventually fell asleep again just before we got to destination. After having a little break and met up with another family, we head out and found a place for fooood. 那天是我們第一次帶妹妹出遊跑長途喔. 一大早6點5分就出發囉. 妹妹5點醒來喝完ㄋㄟㄋㄟ就起來玩了, 所以在車上很想睡, 快睡著又還沒睡這樣朦朦朧朧的過了40分, 終於睡著了! 這一覺就睡了2個小時40分到陶坡. 我們上個廁所幫妹妹換好尿布又上路囉. 不過這下妹妹在車上無聊, 就一路哭鬧了1個多小時, 直到我們快到目的地之前才又睡著. 我們找到約好的朋友一家, 休息一下, 上路去找吃的囉! * 9 months & 3 weeks * Emma found the dumbell under the coffee table, trying to get it out to play. 妹妹在茶几這裡找到啞玲囉, 要抓它出來玩呢. Got it!! 抓到囉... 嘿嘿 Then mummy put it back.... so 2nd attempt. 結果被媽媽收回去放, 再來抓一次吧... Found it! Almost there! 看到了! 快拿出來了... Hehehe got it again! (later mummy had to hide that somewhere else, because although if she has a better grip, she could lift the 1kg dumbell briefly, but she keeps dropping it and it's dangerous). 嘿嘿, 又抓出來囉... (後來媽媽把這個藏起來囉. 如果他可以抓穩一點, 他是可以把這一公斤的啞玲拿起來一下子, 可是他拿不好會一直掉下來, 太危險了)

* 9 months 1-2 weeks * Went visit Joy in the morning 早上去找 Joy 玩.... Emma's speciality, eating toys... 特技表演, 吃玩具 Almost swallow the whole thing.... (ps. did you notice the big belly?) 差一點整個玩具吞下去咧 (有沒有注意到我們肥肥的肚子啊?) This is what we were eating before. Now fighting over it with Joy. Well not really "fighting" 剛剛就是在吃這隻. 現在在跟 Joy 搶玩具喔... 也沒有真的搶啦... Hehe got it, quick, escape. (Joy: What's happening?) 嘿嘿嘿... 拿到手了, 快溜... (Joy: 現在是怎樣了?) Both eating a toy... 一人吃一個玩具 Wooo new toy! I want! *grab* 又有新的玩具啊, 我要玩! *拿* Turn back to check on Joy after she's got the toy... Joy, playing with something else instead. 搶到玩具了, 回頭看看 Joy. 人家已經在玩別的啦! Visiting uncle Winston's parents and his nephew (3days younger than Emma) 下午去 Winston 叔叔的爸媽家玩... 叔叔的姪子也在喔... 跟 Emma 差3天 Emma playing with Utsuke's toy, only 3 days apart but we are quite a bit bigger! 妹妹玩人家的玩具. 才差3天, 我們還比人家大隻咧.... One week later... at Uncle Raj's 一週後, 在 Raj 叔叔家 Hmm.... eating Aunty Carol's thigh. Carol: Emma, wha...

(在抓高腳椅上的那張說明書) What's this? Can I open it? 這是什麼... 可以開開看嗎? Back here again to play with the gate... oops busted by mummy! 回來這裡玩門... 不過被媽媽發現囉! Quick, run away... 趕快逃.... I wonder what's in there? 那間是什麼呢?? Pull the table cloth... 抓桌巾... Look what I've found? 看我找到什麼了? Hmm... yummy... (this is my way of floosing my teeth mummy!) 嗯... 好吃好吃....(媽媽, 這樣用牙線對吧!) Woooo telephone!! (Still holding the floss) 喔... 電話.... (手上還拿著那盒牙線呢) Hmm.... almost there 快拿到了 Hehehe.... I've got it! Hmm... how does this work? 嘿嘿嘿.... 拿到啦! 嗯..... 這怎麼用呢? Quick take it with me and go play somewhere else... 帶著一起去別的地方玩...

* 9.5 months * Emma: Want some rice bikky? 給你吃餅乾... Mummy: ahhh (opens the mouth) (媽媽張口等著呢) Emma: Nah... (eats the bikky herself) 才沒有呢, 自己吃.... Mummy: ....... 被騙了... Emma: Look! I can eat bikky and hold my foot at the same time! 看, 我們可以一邊吃餅乾, 一邊拉腳腳喔!
