* Saturday, 29th March - 8 months & 3 weeks *


Saturday night, after putting Emma to bed for a while, she cried. Daddy went check, then I heard this big scream of "Heeeelp!" from daddy.

I went in, oh boy! Ewwwww she's threw up all over in the cot, some on the floor and all over her clothes. And a poo nappy. She has diarrhoea for a few days now, since Wednesday. I just assumed she's teething as all signs are there. But this one looked different, not much stuff but lots more water and it's a bit darker than normal.

So, sorted her, changed her clothes, nappy and then put a load of washing on for the sheets etc. Finally all done, guess what? Round 2! This time all over the bumpers, too.


While daddy was getting all the sheets off the mattress, Emma was sitting on the couch and leaning her head on my shoulder. The poor little thing was very cuddly. It's very nice, but pity she's unwell.

So more washing for mummy and she's cleaned up again and back to bed. But was a bit more stirred that night.

Luckily that was it, no more throwing up after that.

週六晚, 妹妹睡下去沒多久, 哭了, 爸爸去看他... 結果我聽到一陣慘叫...我進去看... 天啊! 妹妹吐的到處都是, 身上跟床上都是. 抱起來一聞, 還嗯嗯了. 妹妹其實從週三開始拉肚子, 我們看看其他症狀, 想說他應該是在長牙吧. 不過這次這個看起來比較深色.

把妹妹清乾淨, 床單換好, 我也把一些衣服等等都拿去洗, 才洗好... 結果又一次, 這次連床邊幫他圍的都吐到了. 爸爸在換床單的時候, 妹妹坐在沙發上, 很可憐的樣子, 把頭靠在我肩上.. 他很少這樣抱抱..

不過還好就吐那兩次, 晚上倒是睡不太好.

* Almost 8 months old *


This is a "back log". Late Feb 08, I gave Emma the box of nappies to play with. Why? It happened to be there when we came home from shopping and she seems to be intriged by it.

So I let her play with it... she likes it a lot!

這個是舊聞啦. 2月底左右, 我們買菜買了一箱尿布回來, 看妹妹很有興趣的樣子, 就給他玩囉. 他也很愛玩啦. 現在那箱已經拆來用啦!

She had a lot of fun with the box, holding on it to stand up; climb up there and sit on it. Later.. she was even climbing on it and standing up (holding onto the coffee table), or climb up the box then climb up the coffee table and sit on it! ^^;;

之後他也常常玩那個箱子, 扶著站起來啊, 爬上去坐在上面啊, 到後來更猛, 爬上去給我站在上面 (手有扶著茶几啦). 不然就是爬上去箱子然後在爬到茶几上坐 ^^;;;;

* Wednesday, 26th March 2008 - 38 weeks - 8 months+3 weeks*

This Wednesday was the day Emma turned 38 weeks. Why is this important or interesting? Because this is the day that Emma is officially been out on this world more than she has been in my tummy.
She was born when she was 37 weeks + 6 days, just before 38 weeks.

Time sure has gone by fast if I look back now. She's almost 9 months! Of course, the first few days/weeks after she was born, they felt like YEARS. Never had to stay up all day/night for sooooo long.....

But anyways... we survived. She's now very active and popular girl & Very cute - most of the time! :)

這週三妹妹滿38週了. 這有什麼好提的呢? 妹妹在媽媽的肚子裡37週6天才生出來. 這天算是他出生後, 自己變成獨立個體比在媽媽的肚子裡還要久囉!!

現在想起來, 時間真的過的很快, 一轉眼就要9個月啦! 不過他剛出生的那幾天幾週... 真的是渡日如年啊... 從來不知道說原來一天都不睡覺時間這麼長... 更何況幾週下來都這樣...

不過那段日子撐過來囉... 妹妹現在很活潑又好動. 人緣也很好... 大部分的時間都很可愛啦...嘿嘿!

* Tuesday, 18th March 2008 - 8 months + 2 weeks *

Today when I was feeding Emma some rice porridge. She saw daddy eating bread fingers. Oh no, that was the end of it. She wants bread fingers! Now!

Once the bread fingers are here, she was quite happy feeding herself and refused to be fed. There's only about 3 more mouth full, so I put a spoonful in front of her, not interested. So I pretended that I was going to eat them myself. The instant change on her facial expression! Hey! Immediately complained. Then she would open her mouth and finish the rest of the porridge.

That was funny! Normally if I pretend to eat the food, she'd have just let me.

今天下午在餵妹妹吃蔬菜粥, 結果他看到爸爸在吃麵包.. 這樣不行了. 他一定要吃麵包! 爸爸把麵包條給他之後, 他就不削理我了... 我想說還剩幾口啊... 要餵他吃, 他自己吃麵包吃的很高興, 不肯張嘴. 我想說好吧, 你不吃那媽媽要吃囉.. 我就假裝把那一口稀飯放進我的嘴裡... 馬上就變臉啦! 還抗議咧! 接著就肯張嘴給人家餵啦..

真是好笑... 還是頭一次看他這樣. 平時我要是要吃, 他才懶的理我咧... ^^;;

* Saturday, 15th March 2008 - 8 months+ 1-2 weeks *

After bath, mummy took the tape measure out to check how long Emma is... roughly, because she's surprised she can still fit the size 00 stretch and grow when the Plunket nurse measured her as 73.5cm over a month ago!


Then Emma was trying to grab the tape measure to play; mummy was being mean and kept lifting it up, so she can't reach it, like how you play with cats.


Emma was holding onto mummy to stand up and eventually she balanced herself and both hands were going for the tape measure! Yes, she was standing up, hands free, not holding onto anything! Of course, only for a few seconds.


This is the 3rd time I've seen this! First time was probably Thursday night, when I tried to get her to sit down, she was standing so still, I let go and she was still standing without support for like 1 second. The next day, daddy was playing with her and not sure what happened, all I heard was daddy shouted: "look look! she's standing by herself!" very excited.


Did it again on Sunday (today) when I tried to sit her down in the zoo to play. She stayed standing by herself.


I think we will start seeing this more and more, she'd be able to stand up holding, then balance, and let go of the support. Oh dear.... what does this mean!?!

週六晚, 洗完澡, 媽媽很好奇的拿著布尺在量量看妹妹到底多高了. 怎麼到現在 00號的連身裝還穿的下呢? 一個多月前護士量起來就 73.5公分啦..

結果妹妹一直要搶布尺來玩. 媽媽很壞的一直把布尺往上拿, 很像在玩小貓這樣跟他玩... 抓不到抓不到... 嘿嘿... 欺負一下

他就扶著媽媽站了起來, 把自己平衡好之後, 為了要抓到布尺, 竟然還兩手一起出動來抓了!! 就這樣站的往前要抓... 就這樣自己不用扶站了幾秒鐘. 結果當然還是往地上去啦...

這是媽媽第三次看到他這樣了...

第一次是週四晚上吧... 把他放下去要他坐下來, 不肯坐. 我一鬆手想說他就會往下啦... 結果站了大概有一秒吧...才坐下去. 週五晚上換爸爸跟他玩, 也不知道怎樣, 就聽到爸爸很興奮的說.. 快看啊! 他自己站著耶!!

週日晚上又這樣啦... 把他放下去租來的大玩具裡面... 又不肯坐, 這次就站更久一點了, 媽媽一叫, 爸爸回頭看都還來得及看到..

嗯.... 這傢伙好像越來越厲害了...

* Wednesday, 12th March - 8 months 1-2 weeks*

Last night, again Emma slept through till about 4:45 for an early feed! (She was in bed by 6:30pm) I thought maybe she was cold or want the dummy... and thought it's probably like 2am or something. But no... it was 4:45. Oh... no wonder she's hungry! (previous nights, she had 2am feeds .....)

Last night was also the first night in over 8 months, actually over a year and a half, that I've slept through 7 hours without getting up in between for bathroom or Emma!!

Awww.... this is nice!

昨天晚上Emma 從6點半睡到早上4點45才醒來. 聽到他哭的時候我還以為他是冷了,還是要奶嘴... 想說大概才2點多吧... 結果他一直把我的手拍掉 不要奶嘴... 看看時間, 喔... 4:45 了 嗯... 之前幾個晚上都2點起來又要吃... 那應該餓了.

昨晚也是我第一次... 8 個多月來... 不對, 其實應該是將近一年半以來, 我第一次睡7個小時中間沒有醒來過... 沒有起來跑廁所, 也沒有因為妹妹要起來...

真好.....

* Friday, 7th March - 8 months + 3d*

Last night, after a nice bath and a 150ml bottle, Emma was sleeping from 6:40pm. Didn't wake up at all after being put to sleep. Then daddy got her up at 9:30 and gave her another bottle (180ml). Daddy also wrapped her up warm in the kimono style wrap. She went straight back to sleep.

When did we hear her again?!
Daddy and mummy got up at 6 and was super impressed!! 6:20am, I went in to check on her and she was just standing up...

Wow! I can get used to this!! Maybe the trick is to wrap her up warm before bed? (Or maybe I shouldn't get too happy just yet?? :P)

昨天晚上幫妹妹洗完澡, 又喝了一瓶150 cc 的ㄋㄟㄋㄟ... 6點40就睡著啦.
9點半左右爸爸又去給他補一瓶 180cc, 這之間也都沒有醒來喔.. 然後喝完把阿媽買的和式外套穿起來, 包的暖暖的, 放回床上就繼續睡覺啦...

我們睡到6點起來... 真是太神奇了... 他竟然還沒起來吵要喝ㄋㄟㄋㄟ,或是要奶嘴!! 好感動喔...

要是每天都這樣睡多好啊... 也許就把他多包暖暖的就好睡了?
媽媽還是先不要高興的太早好了 ^^;;

* Wednesday, 20th Feb 2008 - 7 months 2-3weeks*

We've been given some rice cracker for babies from another friend. Emma loves them! Boy, you give her one of these and you get some peace and quiet for a while.

之前去朋友家, 人家給了一些嬰兒米餅. 妹妹超愛吃的... 一包餅可以換來一陣寧靜... 自己吃的很高興..




What's mummy doing?? Well just measuring how big her face is.. see how we've got a chubby face now..
媽媽在幹麻呢?? 量量看他臉有多大啊... 看我們吃的肥肥的...


Today (7th March) we even found her trying to stuff more than 1 piece in her mouth! She has one in the mouth, and one on each hand! What a bit greedy gut!

今天我們還發現他一次想要多塞幾片進去呢... 嘴巴咬一塊, 兩手各拿一塊要吃... 真是貪心!!

Almost forgot to take the photos...
差點忘記要照相...




* 7-8 months*

Last week, I've cooked some veg rice porridge, in attempt to give Emma different food, flavours and mainly texture. Carrots diced in small cubes; courgettes are sliced then chopped in thin strips. Then added some baby peas.

I wasn't too sure if Emma would like it, or if the veg pieces would be too big. First time she tried it, she likes it. Finished a small bowl. Gradually, she's now eating the normal bowl that we use for eating rice. And the scary thing is, she doesn't even look like she needs to chew them!!
She was so keen, she can finish the whole bowl within 10 mins. (Whereas normally, takes her 15-20 mins to finish some 3 tablespoons of other food...)

*hehe* Mummy's feeling rather proud... :D She likes my food...

上週為了要幫妹妹變化口味跟口感, 自己煮了一小鍋蔬菜粥..
紅蘿蔔是切一小塊一小塊, 黃瓜是切一條一條的, 再加上豆豆...

本來也不確定他肯不肯吃, 菜會不會太大塊.. 第一次吃還很捧場, 慢慢的越吃越多! 超愛吃的... 我們吃飯的那種碗, 他現在可以吃一碗... 而且吃很快喔, 有時候都餵到來不及 還被抱怨... 10分鐘以內就吃完了...好像都不用咬一樣, 就一直給他吞下去... ^^;; (以前3大湯匙的食物都還可以餵個15-20分咧... 看心情)

媽媽好感動喔... 自己煮的那麼捧場... 那以後多煮一些不同的吧!

* Sunday, 2nd March - almost 8 months *

Today, daddy decided it'd be a good idea to give Emma a haircut, her hair is getting a bit long and messy. A little trim should be good. I said, we better do it now then so there's some time to grow some back before her Uncle Phil's wedding.

So, daddy tried trimming a little off earlier today, she loved it. Thought it was fun. Daddy decided, this is a two people job. So we will wait till just before bath time.

So, here we are, she's looking all happy... until the clipper was turned on. She started to look scared and doesn't like it. Daddy did a quick trim wherever he can, as Emma wasn't cooperation and keeps hiding away from it. So only managed to trimmed off those longer bits. The rest will hav to wait.

Result, actually better than mummy thought she'd look. Actually looks quite good, much tidier than before. Her head even looks smaller! It would be better if she'd sit still and let daddy trim it a bit more.

今天爸爸說, 來幫妹妹剪頭髮好了. 修一點點應該不錯, 不然頭髮越來越亂. 我說那就要早一點剪囉, 這樣去叔叔的婚禮才不會像個小光頭.

爸爸下午就給他剪了一點點, 他以為爸爸在跟他玩也都很開心.. 剪了幾根毛, 爸爸想想還是兩個人一起來比較安全. 就等晚上幫他洗澡之前再來吧!

就像每天該洗澡的時間, 妹妹對著鏡子玩的很開心... 結果爸爸一把剃頭的那支開了... 他就開始緊張起來, 很害怕... 一直躲...一點也不願意合作. 奇怪了, 下午還沒差的啊?? 所以,只好就跟他這樣躲躲閃閃的, 隨便把比較長的地方修了一點起來... 其他的就改天吧.

結果比媽媽想像中的好很多喔.. 現在看起來很好看.. 比較整齊一點. 頭也變小了... ^^;; 不過可以修多一點更好啦...

* Sunday, 2nd March - almost 8 months *

Today we went over to visit my uncle and aunty. Well only aunty was home in the end :P After a while of playing on the floor, Emma decided she wanted to try and climb the stairs. I was curious so I let her try.

The stairs by the kitchen are tiles, so have to watch her closely. She managed to climb 3 steps up. A while later, she decided stairs was more fun than playing with toys on the floor. So off she went again... this time, instead of hands on, then knees on, before making ways for the next step. She was hands on, then one foot on, then the next foot. ^^;;

Aunty decided these stairs are too hard. So we took her by the front door, where there are more stairs, carpeted, leading to upstairs' bedrooms.

Took a little while before Emma started trying. These stairs are not as wide and.... well... we decided we want a break and sat down... oops... she fell backwards. Don't worry, I was there, caught her :P

A little rest, she was back up that stairs again and went even higher this time! I guess someday we will climb upstairs and go play there, eh! :P

我們今天去我阿姨那邊坐坐. 姨丈剛剛好出去了. 妹妹在地上玩了一下, 開始爬起樓梯來啦... 我就給他去爬囉...

不過要一直看著他啦, 樓梯是瓷磚的, 撞到會很痛喔...結果他不用多久就爬了上了3個階梯.. 到廚房囉. 把他抓回去地上玩了一下, 他又回來要爬樓梯啦... 這次手上去之後直接就一腳採上去, 另一腳又上去了. (之前是用膝蓋爬的) ^^;;

然後阿姨說, 這裡太危險了, 讓他去爬前面的樓梯好了. 至少有地毯, 撞到比較不會痛. 妹妹在前面玩了一下, 才開始爬這裡的樓梯. 只是爬了一下累了. 就又一屁股坐下來... ㄟ. ..這裡的樓梯比較窄一點, 結果就往下滾啦... 好在我早就在那等啦!

休息一下再來... 這次又爬比較高了.... 改天再來吧.. 看看哪天他會不會爬到樓上去玩 :P
